Transformational Training For CAVS Student Leaders Now Underway
All CAVS student leaders are currently undergoing training on transformational leadership for student leaders. The training is taking place at The University of Nairobi’s MOANA Research Station located at Diani Beach, South Coast, Kenya and is being conducted by Mr. B. Leonard of Empowerment Resource Technologies Limited.
The Training is being graced by Prof. Michael Okoth, the Associate Dean, Faculty of Agriculture. While addressing the student leaders on behalf of the Principal, Prof. Agnes Mwang’ombe, Prof. Okoth notified the leaders that the training is an annual event for college and it is in line with the University’s strategic objective of producing holistic graduates. He encouraged the students to be attentive in order to acquire skills that that will enable them to offer effective leadership to their fellow students and even to the society after graduating from the University. He reminded the students that they are the University’s ambassadors while at South Coast and are therefore expected to portray a good image of the University. On her part, the College Registrar, Mrs. E. Ngunga assured the leaders that the University Management has done everything possible to ensure that their stay at the training station is enjoyable and the training is a success. She appealed to the leaders to conduct themselves with the highest decorum during the training period.
Other University staff accompanying the students leaders are; Mr. G. Muriuki, College Bursar, Mr. P. K. Mulwa, College ICT Officer in Charge, Mr. J. Okora, College Senior Security Officer in charge, Ms. J. Naitore, Assistant Secretary, Registrar’s Office, among other support staff. The training will take place between today, 14/11/2014 and 16/11/2014. Read more on CAVS College Website.
